Bengali American Cultural Organization

DHROOPAD is a Bengali American cultural organization in the greater Washington DC Metro area formed in 2000 with an objective to promote the rich Bengali cultural heritage, and to foster arts and literature as a force that transcends social, cultural, and religious barriers and instigate compassion for humanity. 

Beyond the black and white borders on maps and petty divides across our thoughts; across religions that fetter and across the poverty that cripples – let the undefeatable human spirit rise. 

Your song and mine, her tunes and his words- in ethereal harmony across cultures and languages, let one single voice resonate throughout the earth and the heavens. 

Like a phoenix from the ashes, like the return of the prodigal son, let peace and unity descend on this earth and announce the rebirth of the one united indomitable spirit of humanity.
